Purple lotus silk gown incorporating genuine Byzantine gold mosaic tesserae from the 6th century — sourced from a private collection and authenticated by the Byzantine Institute of America. The tesserae, once part of an imperial palace mosaic, are set into the bodice. A gown that carries the gold of Justinian's court.
